PNA is pleased to support and encourage scholarships for our members to further their development and knowledge.

 

SCHOLARSHIPS - APPLICATIONS OPEN:

45th Australian Pain Society Annual Scientific Meeting in 13th till 16th April 2025.

Pain Nurses Australia (PNA) seeks to foster the professional development of nurses in their understanding of best practice care for patients in pain.
We are excited to be able to offer one lucky PNA member the opportunity for a scholarship valued up to $1000, towards the registration fee and expenses, for the 45th Australian Pain Society Annual Scientific Meeting from 13th till 16th April 2025.

Criteria includes:

  • Current membership with Pain Nurses Australia
  • Must not have received any prior PNA assistance in the past 3 years.
  • Evidence of current APRHA registration.
  • A short letter of introduction stating why you wish to attend the conference and how it will benefit your clinical practice.
  • A short Curriculum Vitae (2 pages maximum)
  • Submit an event report (up to 250 words) to the event organisers and PNA newsletter team suitable for publication within two weeks of completion of the program.
  • Provide receipts for registration and expenses to the PNA treasurer prior to reimbursement. Reimbursement will occur following attendance of the course.

Sydney University PainRefresh February 2025

Pain Nurses Australia (PNA) and The University of Sydney has combined to offer one lucky PNA member the opportunity to attend the Sydney University PAINRefresh course 3-6th February 2025.

We are excited to be able to offer this scholarship valued at $1000 to be used to assist with the costs associated with attending this education opportunity.

What you will learn?

Based on Sydney University's internationally recognised postgraduate program in pain management, this workshop is aimed at all health professionals interested in pain management. The workshop integrates basic science, research outcomes and clinical applications. The content is based on the International Association for the Study of Pain’s (IASP) interprofessional core curriculum. The main objective of this program is to increase participants’ knowledge and skills in assessing and managing patients with acute and/or chronic pain conditions.

Registration includes morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. A welcome afternoon tea will also be provided at the end of the first day.

Scholarship applicants must:

  • Have been a PNA member for the past 2 years and have not received any prior PNA financial assistance (directors and committee members are ineligible).
  • Include a short letter of introduction stating why you wish to attend the conference and how it will benefit your clinical practice.
  • Attach a short Curriculum Vitae (2 pages maximum) and current APRHA registration.
  • Submit an event report (up to 250 words) to the event organisers and PNA newsletter team suitable for publication within two weeks of completion of the program.
  • Provide receipts for registration and expenses to the PNA treasurer prior to reimbursement.
  • Reimbursement will occur following attendance of the course.

NOTE: The scholarship is valued at $1000 - the recipient will need to cover any additional expenses.
