Pain Nurses Australia, a not-for-profit organisation, established 22nd October 2021, transitioned from the former NSW Pain Interest Group Nursing Issues (PIGNI). On the 20th of April 2023, Pain Nurses Australia became registered with ASIC as public company limited by guarantee.

To advance and promote best practice in the provision of pain management for individuals experiencing pain by providing education to nurses
and allied health professionals who have a particular interest in pain and its management
